School Counseling Services

Francis C. Hammond provides a comprehensive and developmental counseling program which addresses the academic, career and personal/social development of all students. In partnership with educators, parents or guardians, and the community, school counselors establish a culture of high expectations where students are empowered to reach their potential while utilizing their unique abilities and interests.

Hammond offers a variety of programs to support students and their families.

  • Individual and group counseling sessions

  • Decisions 101

  • Support of the Untouchables Male Mentoring Group

  • Substance abuse counseling referrals

  • Character education lessons

  • Peer mediation

  • Academic counseling support between student, parent and team

  • Bilingual counseling support

For core teacher advisement, contact the team teacher to schedule an appointment. 

For math and reading enrichment support, call 703-461-4100 to speak with a grade level counselor and/or math/reading peer coach. 

Naviance Student

Naviance Student is an online career planning system funded by Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) that provides career assessments, career and college research, and the tool students use for the college application process. Students should use their computer login and lunch pin number to log into Naviance.
